Vice President of Facilities and Support Services

A very unique and challenging opportunity exists for a dynamic, resourceful and creative facilities professional at the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Facilities and Support Services (VPFSS) is responsible for the departmental operations and financial performance of the Departments of the Plant/Facility Operations, Security, Parking, Transportation, Foodservice and Environmental Services at all CHA locations. The VPFSS will also work with the executive management team in relation to space planning and capital committees.

This key position is in charge of over 300 FTEs, an operating budget in excess of $36 million, and an annual infrastructure capital budget in excess of $3-5 million. Areas of ongoing focus include parking and the infrastructure requirements found in older facilities.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and responsive facilities professional committed to patient safety, customer service and team leadership. The best candidate will have strong communication skills with an ability to establish and develop relationships among customers, vendors and staff. Experience with expense management and capital budgets is required, as is familiarity with labor relations and human resource management.

A bachelor’s degree is necessary for the role, with a master’s degree strongly preferred. Five to 8 years of facilities/support services experience (with at least 5 years in a healthcare setting) is also needed, with specific knowledge of life safety, OSHA and other pertinent codes and regulations.

Health Center Administrative Director

St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island
Providence, Rhode Island

St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island (the “System”) seeks a collaborative, energetic and enthusiastic leader as Administrative Director of The Center for Health and Human Services (the “Health Center”). The Administrative Director reports to the System’s Chief Operating Officer. The Health Center is an integrated model of primary care and specialty clinics serving the area’s economically disadvantaged and minority populations. Its nationally recognized pediatric dental program serves thousands of children each year. The Health Center has a total operating budget of $7.5 million and annual patient volume of approximately 50,000. The 120 member staff is multicultural and multilingual, reflecting the population it serves.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a compassionate and personable self-starter, with strong relationship building skills. S/he is able to communicate effectively with staff, patients and Board members, and has a track record for providing excellent customer service. The Health Center Director plays a lead role in the Health Center and Hospital-wide strategic planning as a member of the Leadership Operations Council, and must possess an aptitude for business development, marketing and public relations.

The best candidate is committed to community and public health, and to addressing the health and social service needs of the disadvantaged. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a multi-site/multi-specialty clinic is required, as is experience in grant writing, contract negotiations, and labor relations. A master’s degree in Public Health or Business Administration is strongly preferred.
