Ms Jeannette Marrero, RN, MS

Ms Jeannette Marrero, RN, MS , has had a career that evolved over a 20 year period with increasing responsibilities enabling her to progress to Interim Executive Director, following Positions as Chief Operating Officer/CNO at the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center / University Hospital of Brooklyn.

Ms Marrero has experience in diverse administrative areas including Clinical Nursing, Hospital Administration, and Education. Since leaving The State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Ms Marrero has embarked in her own business, J M Consultants. Ms Marrero has worked as a consultant for a national Managed Care Company, and with several Nursing Staffing companies in the recruitment of bilingual nurses.

Ms Marrero has served as Deputy Executive Director of Nursing and Patient Care Services at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Hospital a member of the Health and Hospital Corporation in New York City, where some of her responsibities included: Ambulatory Care, Peri-Operative Services, Health Information Management, Emergency Services, Patient Relations. And Nursing

Prior to her tenure at Lincoln, Ms Marrero served as Associate Hospital Administrator and Director of Nursing for the Hospital for Joint Diseases/Orthopedic Institute in New York City.

While at The Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York City Ms Marrero was responsible for Ambulatory Care and Emergency Nursing.

Ms Marrero has extensive experience with Cultural Diversity issues and Unionized Labor forces .Ms Marrero has been a frequent speaker to community and Nursing groups on Nursing, Community and Healthcare access issues.

Ms Marrero’s education preparation includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s in Administration from Long Island University., with additional studies at Jersey City State Teachers College.

Ms Marrero serves on several professional and health care Boards, most notable, she served on the Board of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses as the National Treasurer. Ms Marrero is also the immediate past president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses New York Chapter.
