Faculty position with the University of Florida
The Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy at the
University of Florida is seeking candidates in the area of health care
management, health services research, or health policy to fill one
tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor
level. Although applicants in any area of specialty will be considered,
individuals with research and teaching interests in health care
organizations, policy, research methods, finance, or quality/outcomes
are of particular interest. Interest in long-term care, rehabilitation,
or public health organizations would be an asset.
Applicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree in health services
research, health policy, business administration, sociology or a related
field. The successful candidates will have a record of publications in
peer-reviewed journals, demonstrated ability to compete successfully for
extramural funding, and appropriate teaching experience. Recent PhDs
who show the potential to become independent researchers will also be
considered.
The Department of Health Services Research, Management and Policy
(www.phhp.ufl.edu/hsrmp/) offers degree programs at both the master's
and doctoral level. The College of Public Health and Health Professions
(www.phhp.ufl.edu) hosts several major centers devoted to the study of
health related issues and is part of the Health Science Center.

Student Research Fellowship Award
The foundation for digestive health and nutrition is sponsoring a
Student Research Fellowship Award for high school, undergraduate,
medical or graduate underrepresented minority students. The purpose of
the award is to stimulate interest in research careers in digestive
diseases by providing salary support for research projects. The award
amount is $2000-$3000 for 10 weeks. The research preceptor has to be a
member of the American Gastroenterological Association.
